Children and young people especially gain deeply from the discipline learned and the readiness to work hard in order to achieve.

Note - many associations will take children as students as soon as they can walk. SEKU believes Karate is too physically demanding for very young bodies, and therefore, training is progressively structured and has a minimum age of 6 years.

Women often find their self esteem grows enormously from taking an active part in what is perceived to be a very rigorous pastime.

Older people taking up Karate are usually amazed to find that they soon regain a large part of the physical abilities they had thought lost with their youth.
